Should natural gas be taken more seriously as an AGW solution?

As a short term measure, natural gas, especially from methyl clathrates is a very good idea. Converting to natural gas will slow the rate of warming and buy time, but natural gas is still a net contributor to atmospheric CO2. Investment in renewable energy technologies needs to continue concurrently with the objective of replacing fossil fuels entirely.
