Wing-Chun and Shaolin kung fu?

I am wondering the difference between the way these two styles train you. would a wing chun school in this day and age be able to make me into another "Ip man" or would they fail. i have heard people saying that no one knows wing chun completely so thats the reason why after 5 years the student feels stuck in the same kind of fighting. do people know how to teach someone until he becomes a grandmaster? and as for shaolin, do all schools make you pray to budha? i believe that "Chi" can focus ones energy but i dont believe budha is a god.
