My car manual says change cambelt every 60,000 miles or every 4 years...... I've done 28K in 5 years....?

you should change it. the reason they give a year limit is the belt rubber will harden and degrade and could snap at any time. it might last till 60 000 miles but it might not, for the sake of it pay the 350 its much cheaper than a new engine
