How easy is it to install laminate flooring?? is it something we could do ourselves?

or would it be wise to have someone to fit it for us?? I've been told it is quite easy but my partner is against it and would rather get someone to do it. I on the other hand would rather save the extra money and give it a go. The room isn't that big and is square with only the fireplace to work around.
