Can someone be sued for slander for putting your job in jeopardy?

I've been accused of sending someone texts on a blocked number outside of work. I offered all my phone records to them to prove I didn't do it. They still took this to work and talked to my bosses about the issue. Which put my job in jeopardy. What can I do? What process needs to be taken to clear myself and stop the slander?
